Setup/Registration Process

Before following the below steps, make sure you have the Altice USA MFA application.

  • At the Keep your account secure screen, click I want to use a different authenticator app.
  • When you are prompted to scan a QR code, choose Can't scan image.
  • You will see your account name and a secret key displayed on the screen. On your device, launch the Altice USA MFA application.
  • In the Set PIN field, type in a 6-digit PIN of your choosing. The PIN can contain only numbers. Copy the secret key from the website and paste it into the Secret Key field in the application. Click OK and you should soon see a window with a 6-digit code. The code is valid for 30 seconds, and the application displays the remaining time to use that code.
  • Click Next on the Microsoft Account MFA setup page and enter the 6-digit code that is currently displayed in the Altice USA MFA application. Click Next to validate the token.
  • You have now completed the registration process for MFA!

Troubleshooting

Forgot your PIN?

The MFA application will generate a 6 digit code regardless of what PIN is entered. Entering the correct PIN will ensure that the codes being generated are valid. If you are unable to authenticate with the codes provided, you may need to reset your PIN. Please note: If you do not have any alternate forms of MFA set up on your account (Phone, MFA app on another device, etc.) you will need to contact the Service Desk for assistance in getting your Secret Key again.

  1. In the MFA application, click on 'Need Help?' that appears in the initial PIN dialog.
  2. In the dialog that appears, click on 'Delete Config'. This will provide an additional prompt to ask that you're sure you want to start over.
  3. After clicking Yes, the application will reset back to its default values and your Secret Key is cleared.
  4. If you do not have any alternate forms of MFA set up on your account, you will need to contact the Service Desk for assistance.
